NMAT Syllabus

NMAT has three sections: Language Skills, Quantitative Skills and Logical Reasoning Skills. Although GMAC does not release any official syllabus for NMAT, you can interpret section wise syllabus based on past years analysis.

Marking Scheme

  • +1 marks for each correct answer.
  • There is no negative marking.
  • You will not get any marks for unattended questions. 

Language Skills

This section includes verbal ability, language structure skills and reading comprehension. You will get 22 minutes to answer 32 questions. The important topics to cover under this section are:

  • Language usage & their rules
  • Para Jumble and Syntax
  • Antonyms and Synonyms
  • Grammar
  • Vocabulary and Idioms
  • Fill in the blanks
  • Reading comprehension

Quantitative Skills

This section checks the quantitative ability of a candidate. You will get 60 minutes to answer 48 questions. This section focuses on topics like:

  • Arithmetic
  • Geometry and Algebra
  • Modern Mathematics
  • Number Systems
  • Data interpretation
  • Problem-solving
  • Data sufficiency

Logical Reasoning

This section will include questions based on:

  • Family tree
  • Arrangement
  • Numeric grid
  • Coding and Decoding
  • Series
  • Decision-making & verbal skills

You will get 38 minutes to answer 40 questions.
