Karnataka Management Admission Test (KMAT) is conducted for admission into Master of Business Administration (MBA) and Master of Computer Application (MCA) programs. The exam is conducted by Conducted by Karnataka Private Post Graduate Colleges Association (KPPGCA) for admissions to more than 160 AICTE-approved University-affiliated B-schools in Bangalore and Karnataka.

Eligibility Criteria

For MBA/PGDM Programs, you should have bachelors degree with minimum 3 years duration or masters degree examination of any recognized education body in Commerce, Management, Arts, Social Sciences, Engineering/ Technology or equivalent, and have secured at least 50% of marks in the aggregate (40% for SC/ST candidate). Candidates in their final year of bachelor’s degree are also eligible.

Exam Pattern

The duration of the exam is 2 hours. For MBA Paper, there are three sections:

  1. Verbal Ability & Reading Comprehension
  2. Quantitative Ability
  3. Logical Reasoning

There are total 120 questions, with each section having 40 questions. It is a paper-pencil based test.

Karnataka Private Post Graduate Colleges Association (KPPGCA) was established in 2003 to provide proactive support to professional education and facilitate and streamline admission to postgraduate professional courses - MBA, PGDM and MCA. KMAT is conducted for admission to AICTE approved University affiliated Self-financing colleges in Karnataka.

Karnataka Management Aptitude Test (KMAT) is a standardised test being administered since 2003 to facilitate Post Graduate Institutions to screen candidates for admission to MBA, PGDM ad MCA courses. Any Post Graduate Institution within the state can consider KMAT Score as an admission input based on the Score Cards issued to the candidates.
