How to Apply for CMAT

The All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE) releases CMAT application form in online mode only. The application form process comprises registration, fee payment and filling up the application form. It is necessary for applicants to first register for the CMAT in order to take the management entrance test. Candidates can choose up to three test centres as per their convenience while filling up application form.

You should keep certain documents and items handy before commencing with the CMAT application form.

  • Ensure access to a good Internet connection to avoid any interruptions during the procedure.
  • Keep all prior academic qualification details ready as they need to be filled during the registration process.
  • A scanned photo ready to be uploaded.
  • Clear signature on a white background scanned and ready to be uploaded.
  • A valid contact number, as you will be notified via the same.
  • A valid email address for further communication.
  • A valid debit/credit card to make the fee payment.
  • A printer should be connected to the system that you are likely to use as you will need to take a printout of the challan if you plan to deposit the fees via cash at the bank.

How To Fill CMAT Application Form

Those who are eligible and have registered can fill the application form of CMAT. It includes three steps:

  1. Online Registration
  2. Payment of Application Fee
  3. Filling the Application Form

Step 1: Online Registration 

Since most candidates are likely to be first time users, they will be required to create an account to proceed with the CMAT application form. Here, candidates will need to enter basic details about themselves. Candidates must make sure they enter the correct information and verify the same before submitting. After filling the application form, candidates have to click on the 'Submit' button.

Candidates can also add their Aadhar Card number during the registration process (optional).

Step 2: Payment of Application Fee

The next step will be to make the necessary payments to complete the application procedure. The fee payment can be done via the following modes:

  • Debit/Credit card
  • Cash deposit in SBI Bank
  • Net Banking

The General/OBC category candidates have to pay a fee of Rs. 1400 (+ bank charges), while the SC/ST category and female candidates have to pay Rs. 700 (+ additional bank charges). Also, candidates will have to print 3 copies of challan, in case they are planning to pay by cash at the bank.

Step 3: Fill the application form

The last step requires candidates to fill rest of the application form. The details required are:

  • Personal details such as name, father's name and Date of Birth (DOB)
  • Academic details including high school, senior secondary school and graduation completion details.
  • Scanned picture and signature of the exact dimensions as mentioned in the table below.
  • Accepting the declaration
