IIM Calcutta Shortlisting Criteria

IIM Shortlisting Criteria

You must have a Bachelor's degree with minimum 50 percent marks or equivalent CGPA (45 percent for SC, ST and PwD category candidates). Final year graduation students can also apply. The premier B-School follows two step process for admission to its management programmes.

In the first step, the institute shortlists the CAT takers on the basis of their sectional and overall cutoff percentile. IIM Calcutta cutoff varies from category to category. Along with CAT cutoff, IIM Calcutta also considers past academic records (Class X and XII scores), Work Experience, and Gender Diversity factor for the admission process.

Category Quantitative Aptitude percentile rank (PQA) Data Interpretation & Logical Reasoning percentile rank (PDILR) Verbal and Reading Comprehension percentile rank (PVRC) Overall percentile rank (PT)
General ≥80 ≥80 ≥80 ≥90
NC-OBC ≥75 ≥75 ≥75 ≥85
SC ≥65 ≥65 ≥65 ≥70
ST ≥60 ≥60 ≥60 ≥70
PWD/DA ≥60 ≥60 ≥60 ≥70

Once the candidates are shortlisted on the basis of CAT cutoff as prescribed by the institute, their past academic records are assessed. The shortlisted candidates are called for the selection rounds - Personal Interview and Writing Test.
