XLRI (Xavier Labour Relations Institute) Admission Test or XAT also known as the Xavier's Admission Test is a National level exam conducted by XLRI as a first step entrance test for management education. XLRI conducts XAT on behalf of the XAMI. On the basis of XAT result, eligible candidates are short listed and called for Group Discussion, Essay and Personal Interview (GDPI). The XAT score is used by more than 150 institutes for the admission.

Eligibility Criteria

You are required to have acquired a Bachelor's degree under 10+2+3 system from a recognized university or a deemed university. Those completing their final examination may also apply.

NRI and foreign national candidates belonging to countries outside India, except Dubai and Nepal, have to take GMAT in order to apply for XLRI programmes.

Exam Pattern

Until 2017, XAT was conducted in paper-pencil mode but from 2018, it is held online. The XAT exam has two papers. 

Paper 1 has objective type questions from Decision Making, Verbal and Logical Ability, and Quantitative Ability and Data Interpretation. It also have negative marking. Paper 2 has questions of both objective and descriptive nature and covers General Knowledge and Essay Writing sections.

You are allowed to skip a maximum of 12 questions, beyond which you have to incur negative marking of 0.05 marks.
