All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE) conducts national-level Common Management Admission Test (CMAT) every year. CMAT is an entrance test for admission to over 4,000 colleges that offer MBA and 500 colleges which run postgraduate diploma in management programs. It is a computer-based test (CBT).
AICTE CMAT 2017
- Start of Registrations: 10 October, 2016

Graduates in any discipline or final year students of Graduate Courses can apply for CMAT.
The CMAT is a three-hour computer based online test which is conducted in a single session to evaluate the candidate’s ability across various segments like Quantitative Technique, Logical Reasoning, Language Comprehension and General Awareness.
There are four sections in the test:
- Quantitative Techniques & Data Interpretation
- Logical Reasoning
- Language Comprehension
- General Awareness
There are 25 questions in each section. There are total of 100 questions. The duration of the test is 180 minutes. There is negative marking for wrong answers. 4 marks will be awarded for each correct answer and 1 mark will be deducted for wrong answer.
